Er, isn’t that what the CBCP want us to do with them?
DON’T STOP HAVING KIDZ! PUT THEM TO WORK! BIRTH CONTROL IS THE DEVIL’S WORK!
Kenney added that when Dr. Bernie Villegas, a population expert and the vice-president of the Opus Dei-run University of Asia and the Pacific, met with the US embassy’s political section chief, Villegas -
A separate cable – this time sent on July 15, 2005 from the US Embassy incommented that he had heard there was “an informal understanding” between Malacanang and the Church that the GRP would not push for HB 3773 “under any circumstances.”
A separate cable – this time sent on July 15, 2005 from the US Embassy in Vatican City – confirmed that Vatican had given marching orders to the Philippine bishops not to join anti-Arroyo protests.
Brent Hardt, the US Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires at the Vatican wrote then that:
¶1. (C) Holy See Country Director for the Philippines Monsignor Luis Montemayor confirmed July 14 that the Vatican pressured the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) not to support protests calling for the resignation of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Mulat Pinoy launches video contest on RH for the youth
The Responsible Parenthood, Reproductive Health and Population and Development Act of 2011, more commonly referred to as the RH Bill, has been the subject of much discussion both on the floor of the Congress session hall and at dinner tables across the nation. At family reunions and office coffee breaks, in groups of clerics and activists, amongst rich and poor alike, every Filipino has an opinion.
But the sector most concerned, most affected by the issue of reproductive health, be it the RH Bill or simply the chance at maternal and child care, is the youth. It is the teenage mother, who at 16 is giving birth to her second child. It is the boy on the cusp of manhood, looking to prove his masculinity. It is the high school student, whispering to her barkada half-truths about condoms and pills and gonorrhea. It is the child, not even ten years old, who hears his parents having sex in the shanty he shares with five other siblings.
What do they have to say about reproductive health? Do they have anything to say? Do they want to say anything? Mulat Pinoy wants to know.
The “We Are Right Here. We Are RH.” video contest was launched on July 11, World Population Day. The contest seeks to give young people a say in the matter that affects them most. Young Filipinos aged 25 and below are invited to submit amateur videos between 90 seconds and 8 minutes in length, showing how they feel about the over 3.6 million teenage pregnancies in the Philippines, about condoms and contraceptives, about sex education, about visiting a gynecologist, about premarital sex, about virginity. The deadline for entries is September 30, 2011.
“We Are Right Here. We Are RH.” is presented by Mulat Pinoy, in cooperation with the Philippine Center for Population and Development, the Probe Media Foundation, Inc., Forum for Family Planning and Development, the Likhaan Center for Women’s Health, the Philippine Legislators Committee on Population and Development, and the Philippine NGO Council on Population, Health and Welfare, Inc.

An anti-Reproductive Health (RH) bill advocate accused of assaulting an RH supporter has finally broken his silence on the incident, insisting the alleged assault is a “non-issue” that does not deserve further discussion.
The alleged assailant, identified as Rizalito David, sent a statement to GMA News saying that the pro-RH advocates involved in the alleged assault just “[blew] the matter out of proportion to get media mileage as they very well know that the RH bill will be defeated on voting day.”
OOOKAAY
“Nanawagan ako sa mga fans ko na sana magkaisa tayo para labanan at sugpuin ang RH bill. Sana hindi utos ng tao ang ating susundin kung hindi ang utos ng Panginoon,” Pacquaio said.
Mga iba pang utos ng Panginoon:
“Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.” (Leviticus 20:9)
“A shameless woman shall be counted as a dog; but she that is shamefaced will fear the Lord.” (Eccles.26:25)
“For from garments cometh a moth, and from women wickedness. Better is the churlishness of a man than a courteous woman, a woman, I say, which bringeth shame and reproach.” (Eccles. 42:13-14)
“a blessing on anyone who seizes your babies and shatters them against a rock!” (Psalms 137:9, Jerusalem Bible)
“But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.” (Luke 19:27)
“Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.” (I Corinthians 14:34-35)
“Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.” (I Samuel 15:3)
Etc etc~
I’m constantly amazed at how hypocritical people get when religion and votes mix. Also, I’m betting 10 -1 that the Pambansang Kamao has not even casually perused the RH Bill.
I am, by no-means, for the progress of our country and for the better life.
For starters the Reproductive Health Bill (Bill no. 4244), the latest out of eight revisions, is currently making noise in the Philippines. It was a huge text of propositions that magnetized two conflicting zones: the Church and the State, the educated and the not-so, the closed and the open-minded, and so on.
Bill 4244 talks about giving the citizens access to valuable information and service that concerns their reproductive health. That includes the choice to having either the natural or the modern methods of family planning and proper education to the youth in order to prevent them to resorting to abortion.
Before you take sides, I personally urge you to calm down, clear your mind and emotions, and read the whole text.
And why only slapstick humor sells in the Philippines.

Some 98 percent of sexually active Catholic women have used contraceptive methods banned by the church, research published on Wednesday showed.
A new report from the Guttmacher Institute, the nonprofit sexual health research organization, shows that only 2 percent of Catholic women, even those who regularly attend church, rely on natural family planning.
‘‘The church always wins,” said Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales. This statement speaks volumes about how powerful the Catholic hierarchy regards itself to be. History, however, proves this statement as UNTRUE.
In 1956, Catholic bishops vehemently opposed the passage of Senate Bill 438: “An Act to Include in the Curricula of All Public and Private Schools, Colleges and Universities Courses on the Life, Works, and Writings of Jose Rizal, particularly his Novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, Authorizing the Printing, and Distribution Thereof…” authored by Senators Jose B. Laurel Sr., and Claro M. Recto. This was approved by the House and Senate on 17 May 1956, and signed into law as Republic Act 1425 by then President Ramon Magsaysay on 12 June of the same year. The Catholic hierarchy LOST.
Anti-RH Bill Catholics Harass RH Bill Supporters
The Filipino Freethinkers and the Democratic Socialist Women of the Philippines went to the Manila Cathedral where an anti-RH bill discernment mass was supposed to be held.
Unfortunately, they were denied entry from the chapel for wearing Damaso-printed shirts, which these organizations have worn to express their disagreement with the CBCP’s position.
Lorna Ferrer, a member of the DSWP, told Mr. Manalang that she was Catholic. Mr. Manalang responded with, “You are not a real Catholic! You are an oxymoron!” — implying that Catholics who use or support any form of artificial contraception could not possibly be “real” Catholics.
Here are just some of the statements hurled at members of the Filipino Freethinkers and the DSWP by Manalang and company:
“This is our territory. Get out of here!”
“Damaso is a fake. You’re a fake! You are the Damaso!”
“Get out of here, Satan!”
“You should tell your mother that she should have aborted you!”As the organizations walked away, Pro-Life advocates continued the barragewith “Get out of here, Satan!” “Away, Satan, away!”
Meanwhile, the anti-RH reflection service was going on inside. One of the speakers, Dra. Angie Aguirre, asked the churchgoers inside: How many have read the actual text of the RH Bill? Less than ten percent raised their hands.
Some of the worst people I know I see at church.
Meanwhile, ALL the atheists I know are passionate about truth, life, and love. Why is that?
It seems to me that blind followers of a religion lack something in their lives that can make it truly fulfilling. It is ironically comforting to be able to blame a diety and say its out of your hands when something goes wrong with your life that you normally should have some sort of control over.
